Fans who gathered at Terriers Ballpark saw a good contest between the Amarillo Submarinos and Gibtown Elephants.
Amarillo starter Ean Somoza pitched effectively against the Gibtown Elephants at Terriers Ballpark. The right-hander led his team to a 4-2 win. Amarillo reliever Hui Ruan was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Vincent Hubbard took the loss. Picking up the save was António Moreno, his 3rd.
The Submarinos got a big at-bat from right fielder Riley Rowbery. For the game, Rowbery was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 17th hit of the season gave Amarillo a 3-2 lead.
Gibtown manager Augusto González said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
At 7-4, the Submarinos have played well so far.
