Mermen Get Past Moose Jaw for 7-6 Win
Moose Jaw second baseman An-te-hai Qing had a good game, even if his team did not. The Canucks dropped a 7-6 decision to Newcastle at Newcastle Stadium. Qing was 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Even with the win, the Mermen have a dismal 17-42 record.

Garm van Opdorp was the walk-off hero for Newcastle. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mermen left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
