|
Franklin starter Jesús Cruz had a strong outing against the Union City Hillers at Crusaders Ballpark. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. Cruz, now 8-3, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 4, walking 4, and allowing no earned runs. Franklin now sits at 32-21, while Union City falls to 27-26.
Ricardo Cardona tagged a home run off Enreecko Avelino in the top of the fifth. His solo blast put the Fire on top, 1-0. In all, Cardona had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 4.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Cruz said.
