Fans at Titans Ballpark were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Crowley Cajuns take on the Franklin Fire.
Crowley Cajuns starter David Silva was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Franklin Fire, 3-1. The winning pitcher was Silva, now 3-3. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 7.
Had Miguel Contreras not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Contreras hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Cajuns.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Crowley manager Jared Gilbert. "Our pregame was pretty good."
The Cajuns' win now puts them at 29-15.
