The Franklin Fire powered past the Crowley Cajuns, 9-6, at Lawmen Ballpark. Ling-lai Ding went 2-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 4, to lead the charge. Jesús Cruz, who went 6.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 10. His record now stands at 3-1. Franklin now has a 3-game win streak.

Franklin grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Rick Newell delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 3-2 in favor of the Fire.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Newell said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
