Pizza Rats Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Cajuns
|
The Crowley Cajuns and Staten Island Pizza Rats brought some excitement to Titans Ballpark.
The Staten Island Pizza Rats took Crowley pitcher John Combs's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Titans Ballpark. The final score had Staten Island getting past the Cajuns, 7-4. Combs went 7.1 innings and allowed 4 earned runs, striking out 8. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Julius Spry.
It could have been a different outcome for Staten Island, had it not been for Wilson Sabadodíaz, the 19-year old center fielder . Sabadodíaz contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth inning to put Staten Island up, 6-4.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Sabadodíaz said.
The Pizza Rats, now 5-12, have not found much traction so far in 2034.
