Late Rally by Rams Secures Win
|
The Ladue Rams racked up a win at Ballpark of Wellsville, bumping off the Franklin Fire, 3-2. Rio Dring, who started for Ladue, pitched effectively for his team. Ladue reliever Alfonso Caballero picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Kohei Nishikawa was saddled with the loss. James Callendar got credit for the save for Ladue. It was his 5th of the year.
Had Daron Mack not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Mack hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Rams.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Mack said.
At 10-6, the Rams have played well so far.
