Capital Hill and Ellesmere Island duked it out at Alouettes Ballpark and the Interns came out victorious.
The Ellesmere Island Snowpeople got a superb performance from pitcher Francisco Josafat, but the Capital Hill Interns still won the game, 7-6. Josafat was named the player of the game despite the loss. He came in in relief and pitched to 22 batters . Steve Jackson, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 12th save.
Had Zong-ming Tsui not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Tsui hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Interns.
"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Tsui.
Capital Hill is now 31-32, Ellesmere Island 29-34.
