Cougars Take Down Centennial, 7-3
Spirited fans at Ballpark of Baxter greeted the Fort Knox Centennial for their clash with the Valley View Cougars.

Fort Knox pitcher José Alfaro gave the Cougars all they could handle, but in the end, Valley View left Ballpark of Baxter with a 7-3 win. Alfaro allowed no earned runs on 3 hits over 5 innings. Valley View reliever Sarda Chitturu got the win, raising his record to 1-0. José López was tagged with the loss.

Bill Stanton aided the Valley View cause with a 2-run double in the top of the third. For the game, the designated hitter was 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Stanton told the Valley View News. "You win just by scoring more runs."

Valley View is now 27-34, while Fort Knox is 34-27.
