Clippers Keep Streak Alive With 4-2 Win
|
Fans at Mean Green Ballpark were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown San Diego Clippers take on the Ogallala Octopi.
The San Diego Clippers got a stellar effort from pitcher Riley Evans, helping San Diego score a 4-2 win over the visiting Ogallala Octopi. Evans got the win, improving to 6-3. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Evans allowed 2 earned runs. Pascal Bourdon earned the save for San Diego, his 3rd.
In the bottom of the first, Cleveland Mortimer hit a 2-run single for San Diego. The 63rd hit of the season for the San Diego third baseman put the Clippers on top, 2-0.
"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said San Diego manager Dexter Shannon.
The Clippers, at 31-22, have now won 12 straight.
