Late Rally by Interns Secures Win
The Capital Hill Interns faced a tough opponent in Ogallala pitcher Venceslau Martelo, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Alouettes Ballpark by a final score of 3-2. Martelo went 7.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Steve Jackson picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-1. Peter Lydell was tagged with the loss. Capital Hill is now 19-20.

Sergio Gonzáles was the walk-off hero for Capital Hill. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Interns pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Gonzáles told the Capital Hill Today.
