Clippers Fall Short, 2-1, at Ogallala
|
The Ogallala Octopi and San Diego Clippers played a tight game at Nebraska Aquarium, with the hosts claiming the hard-fought win.
The Ogallala Octopi picked up a win at Nebraska Aquarium, knocking off the San Diego Clippers, 2-1. Starting pitcher Venceslau Martelo was an essential part of his team's success. Martelo got the win, improving to 4-2. He allowed 8 hits and walked 1 over 6.2 innings. Martelo allowed 1 earned run. Chi-young Zamora sewed up the save, his 2nd.
Early in the game, designated hitter Carlos Martínez had a run-scoring single for Ogallala. It was his 54th hit of the season and put the Octopi on top, 2-1.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Martelo.
With the win, Ogallala goes to 20-14, while the Clippers fall to 18-16.
