Cougars Come Back Late, Nip Snowpeople

Both teams had their chances, but the Valley View Cougars eventually prevailed at Corpus Christi Grounds.
Ellesmere Island pitcher Wilson Tamayo gave the Cougars all they could handle, but in the end, Valley View left Corpus Christi Grounds with a 3-2 win. Tamayo allowed no earned runs on 4 hits over 6.1 innings. Peter Routledge, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save.
Had Tim Gonzáles not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Gonzáles hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Cougars.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Gonzáles.
Valley View currently is in 9th place in the Premier R at 15-19.
