Snowpeople Pin 7-5 Loss on Interns

The Capital Hill Interns got a superb performance from third baseman António Salas. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Ellesmere Island. The Snowpeople won the game, 7-5. In spite of the loss, Salas was named the player of the game. He went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Wilson Tamayo was the winner. Over 6 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 9 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. Ellesmere Island, at 14-15, sits in 6th place in the Premier R.
In the bottom of the third, Luigino Colombo hit a 3-run home run for Ellesmere Island. The 3rd home run of the season for the Ellesmere Island center fielder put the Snowpeople on top, 3-1.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Colombo.
