Surprise Makes It 6 Straight with 5-4 Win
San Diego got a terrific performance from first baseman Pedro Serano, but it wasn't enough to beat the Surprise Shockers. Surprise won the ïAbbots Ballpark contest, 5-4. Serano was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Surprise reliever Vítor Paiva picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. César Sandoval shouldered the loss. Surprise has now reeled off 6 straight wins.

Late in the game, second baseman Quinn Lynch had a big at-bat for Surprise. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single off César Sandoval. The play gave the Shockers a 5-4 lead.

"It was our day today," Lynch told the Surprise Daily. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
