Capital Hill got a terrific performance from pitcher Vincent Moreau, but it wasn't enough to beat the Tulsa Otters. Tulsa won the Ballpark of Hughesville contest, 3-2. Moreau was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. The winner was Nick Rollins, who threw 100 pitches over 6.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 5 hits. Tom Lee finished to wrap up his 3rd save.
The Otters got a big at-bat from right fielder Jaypee Layug. For the game, Layug went 1-4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Tulsa a 2-0 lead.
Layug told a Tulsa Observer reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
Tulsa is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 6th win in 16 games.
