Sun Sox Lose, 5-3, at Mean Green Ballpark

The San Diego Clippers topped the Winter Haven Sun Sox, 5-3, in USPL Rookie action at Mean Green Ballpark. The player of the game was San Diego pitcher and Rosarito, Mexico native Eduardo Tovar. Tovar picked up the win for San Diego, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. San Diego is now 8-7.
Tony Worley aided the San Diego cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the center fielder went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Worley. "And not try to do too much."
