Smith Helps Fort Knox Cruise to 16-2 Win
The exploits of left fielder Adam Smith helped the Fort Knox Centennial defeat the Valley View Cougars, 16-2. Smith was 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 5 runs. Aldo Ottens was the winner. Over 6 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. Arturo Mesa finished to wrap up his 3rd save.

The Centennial got a lift from shortstop Roland Reece who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Gaberiela Tatafu. It was his 1st walk of the season and put Fort Knox in front, 2-1.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Smith said.

The Cougars fall to 5-8 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2034 season.
