Surprise rode a decent outing from starter Jack Crabb to victory over the Valley View Cougars at Hillandale Grounds. The final score was 3-2. Earning his 2nd save of the year was José Castro. The Cougars fall to 5-7 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2034 season.

Quinn Lynch's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a fastball from Einar Engberg for a run-scoring double. It put Surprise in front, 3-2.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Surprise manager said.
