Snowpeople Go Down to Defeat, 5-3
|
The San Diego Clippers topped the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 5-3, in USPL Rookie action at Corpus Christi Grounds. The player of the game was San Diego pitcher and Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania native Riley Evans. The win gives San Diego a record of 7-4.
Had Pedro Serano not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Serano hit a bases-clearing double. That made the score 5-2, in favor of the Clippers.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Serano.
