Eric Martínez really sizzled at the plate in today's 17-5 win over Cougars. The Surprise catcher blistered Valley View for 5 hits in 5 at-bats.

"Martínez was too tough to get out today," the Cougars skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."

Eric Martínez hit a solo-shot off Jimmy Pineda in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
