Valley View pitcher Gaberiela Tatafu did his part in helping his team beat the Tulsa Otters, 5-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Tatafu went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 1-0. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Michinori Nakamura.
In the top of the second, Andy Woods hit a run-scoring double for Valley View. The 2nd double of the season for the Valley View catcher put the Cougars on top, 1-0.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Valley View manager Reggie Adams.
Valley View, now 2-1, has played well in the early going.
