Blaze Come Up Short at Valley

The Blue Sox faced a stiff challenge from South Beach pitcher Aaron Corrigan, but persevered to claim a win at The Heron Refuge. The final score was 2-1. Corrigan went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Valley reliever Francisco Rodríguez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Aaron Corrigan was saddled with the loss. Tom Holloway notched his 17th save in 18 chances.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and two out in the bottom of the fifth inning. That's when second baseman Júlio Hernández drew a walk. The Blue Sox went on to win.
"It feels good to get this one," Hernández told the Valley Observer.
Valley now sits in 4th place in the Premier A at 49-47.
