Generals Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
|
The Washington Generals wiggled past the Mancelona Torch, 4-3, at Torch Field. Washington pitcher Bryan White earned player of the game honors. The winner was Milton Mathews in relief. His record improves to 4-3. John Fain took the loss. Jeremy Sears earned the save for Washington, his 1st of the year.
The result might have been different for Washington, had it not been for Eun-bum Song. The right fielder produced a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Generals ahead, 4-3. For the game, Song had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," White said.
Washington is 43-53 and Mancelona, with the loss, 40-56.
