Generals Win at Valley, 3-1
|
Pitcher Juan Carbajal was sensational for the Washington Generals in his team's 3-1 triumph over the Valley Blue Sox. Carbajal received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Milton Mathews converted his 15th save in 17 tries. Washington occupies 7th place in the Premier A at 39-46.
The Generals got a big at-bat from catcher Mike O'Neil. For the game, O'Neil went 1-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Washington a 2-0 lead.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," O'Neil told the Washington Observer.
