Washington Park was the site of a competitive game between the Washington Generals and Delaware 1787 BC.
The Delaware 1787 BC took Washington pitcher Ramón Gálvez's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Washington Park. The final score had Delaware getting past the Generals, 3-1. Gálvez went 7 innings and allowed 3 earned runs, striking out 11. Einar Engberg earned the save, his 4th, for the 1787 BC.
The 1787 BC got a big at-bat from first baseman Lucas Hancox. For the game, Hancox went 1 for 3 with a double and was hit by a pitch. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 5th double of the season gave Delaware a 1-0 lead.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Hancox.
Delaware currently is in 5th place in the Premier A at 40-38.
