In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Valley rode a good effort from starter Gao Mar to beat the Provo Mango at Mango Yard. The final score was 6-2. Mar got the win, improving to 5-0. He allowed 4 hits and walked 4 over 7 innings. Mar allowed 1 earned run.
Tied up with the Mango in the top of the fourth inning, the Blue Sox got a boost from right fielder Jon Huband. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Huband saw a 2-1 fastball from Alberto Ramos and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Valley on top, 1-0.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Mar told the Valley Observer.
Valley is 4th in the Premier A with a record of 40-36.
