Blue Sox Best BC in Pitching Duel
|
The Valley Blue Sox got a magnificent performance from pitcher Gao Mar, who stifled the Put-In-Bay offense en route to a 2-0 Blue Sox win at Put-In-Bay Ballpark. Mar, now 4-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 9, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs. The save was credited to Tom Holloway, his 10th.
In the top of the first, Jon Huband hit a run-scoring double for Valley. The 9th double of the season for the Valley center fielder put the Blue Sox on top, 1-0.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Mar.
Valley is now 33-29, Put-In-Bay 34-28.
