The Galesburg Guzzlers took Mancelona pitcher Enrique Cruz's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Galesburg Field. The final score had Galesburg getting past the Torch, 5-3. Cruz went 8.1 innings and allowed no earned runs, striking out 9. Galesburg reliever Irving Wheeler picked up the win to move to 1-0. José Costa suffered the loss. Galesburg is now 21-35, Mancelona 23-33.

Galesburg won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With two outs and José Costa on the mound for Mancelona, second baseman Gerald Snow hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Guzzlers fans to their feet.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Snow.
