Multi-HR Game for Bailey in 6-4 Win
|
The Washington Generals topped the Valley Blue Sox by the score of 6-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to third baseman Ashton Bailey. Bailey was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice for the Generals on the day. Milton Mathews earned his 9th save in 10 tries. Valley's current losing streak is now 6 games.
Bailey had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-2 cutter from Risto Latva, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Generals a 6-4 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Bailey.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Washington manager Jacob Curtis.
