Generals Win in Extras
|
Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at The Heron Refuge.
The Washington Generals topped the Valley Blue Sox, 6-3, with youngster Silas Givens playing a key role. Givens was 2-5 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Generals in the win. The win was Jeremy Sears's in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Eddo Mud took the loss for Valley.
Givens had a game-changing double in the top of the 12th. On a first pitch fastball from Eddo Mud, he banged a run-scoring double to right-center, giving the Generals a 4-3 lead. It was the 18th double of the year for Givens.
"Big win," said Givens.
Valley has now lost 5 straight.
