Blaze Roll to 8-3 Win Over BC
|
The South Beach Blaze picked up a win at Put-In-Bay Ballpark, knocking off the Put-In-Bay BC, 8-3. Starting pitcher Firpo Marberry, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Marberry, the winner, moves to 8-2. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 1 walk. South Beach now owns a record of 31-18.
The Blaze got a big at-bat from first baseman Noah Martone. For the game, Martone went 1-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the top of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 16th double of the season gave South Beach a 4-2 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Marberry.
