Tula Win at Washington, 4-2
|
The Washington Generals got a superb performance from pitcher Ramón Gálvez. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Chicago. The Tula won the game, 4-2. In spite of the loss, Gálvez was named the player of the game. He threw 8 innings allowing 4 runs. Kingston Liniak was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. The Tula improved to 20-28.
Washington had a runner on 1st in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Abel Murphy came to bat, hoping to do some damage. Instead, he lined out. The score remained 4-2, Chicago. The Generals saw their comeback bid fail.
