|
In a low-scoring game between the Valley Blue Sox and the Walla Walla Walleye, pitcher Gao Mar was masterful on the mound. The Valley left-hander was named the player of the game in Valley's 3-1 win. Hans Rager earned his 1st save in 1 tries. Today's win puts Valley at 24-20, while Walla Walla falls to 31-13.
The Blue Sox got a big at-bat from catcher Walter Butler. For the game, Butler was 1-3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Valley a 2-0 lead.
"Feels good to get the job done," Mar said after the game.
