Hopdown Hits 2 home runs in Jets Win
|
The Kennesaw Jets topped the Athletic Club KC U-24, 4-3, in USSL Single A action at ACKC Youth Field. The player of the game was Kennesaw center fielder Jason Hopdown. Al Gagne got the win, improving to 7-2. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 2. Kennesaw, at 55-39, occupies 4th place in the Silver A.
Hopdown contributed a big hit, a 2-run single, for Kennesaw in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Hopdown took a cutter from Scotty Bingham and stroked the single to left. His 36th hit of the season allowed the Jets to leap in front, 3-2.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Hopdown.
