Kennesaw Jets starter Kevin Beckman was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Connetquot Chiefs, 5-3. Beckman got the win, improving to 9-3. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 7.2 innings. Beckman allowed 2 earned runs. Robert Karabanov notched his 7th save in 7 chances.
The Jets got a big at-bat from left fielder Albert August. For the game, August went 1 for 3 with a hit by pitch. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 28th hit of the season gave Kennesaw a 3-1 lead.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Beckman told the Kennesaw Gazette.
The Jets bumped their record to 51-36 with this latest triumph.
