Hotspur U-21 Hang 5-2 Loss on Jets
|
Phoenix Hotspur U-21 starter Derek Jones turned in an exceptional performance against the Kennesaw Jets at Hotspur Kiddie Complex, resulting in a Phoenix win, 5-2. The winning pitcher was Jones, now 4-8. He tossed 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 2. César Vela was credited with the save for Phoenix, his 8th of the season.
In the bottom of the third, Keith York hit a 2-run double for Phoenix. The 10th double of the season for the Phoenix third baseman put the Hotspur U-21 on top, 4-2.
"We did a lot of things right," said York.
Phoenix now owns a record of 38-46.
