The Yellowknife Dragonblood picked up a win at Storm Park, knocking off the Syracuse Storm, 5-3. Starting pitcher Sergio Gallegos, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Doug Lane earned the save, his 18th. The Dragonblood improved to 52-31.

The game was on the line with two out in the bottom of the ninth inning, but Doug Lane didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 3rd and Syracuse trailing 5-3, Lane retired Franck Kooijmans to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Lane, with a wink.
