Chiefs Stymie Niagara Falls, Take 3-1 Win
|
The Connetquot Chiefs defeated the Niagara Falls Expos, 3-1, in USSL Single A action at The Big Teepee, with Connetquot pitcher Teok-kyu Ch'oe named player of the game. Ramon Wuilink converted his 3rd save in 3 tries. Even with the win, the Chiefs have a dismal 24-56 record.
The Chiefs got a big at-bat from left fielder Doug Cole. For the game, Cole went 1 for 3 with a double. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 9th double of the season gave Connetquot a 1-0 lead.
Cole said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
