U-24 Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Expos
|
The Athletic Club KC U-24 topped the Niagara Falls Expos, 4-3, with youngster Andy Roarick playing a key role. Roarick went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the U-24 in the win. The win was credited to Ozamataz Buckshank in relief. His record improves to 2-5. Yen-ti Xiang took the loss. Niagara Falls has now lost 5 straight.
Rafael Cortéz was the walk-off hero for Athletic Club KC. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the U-24 designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I was a little disappointed," said Niagara Falls manager Dave Ross. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
