Late Rally by Black Cats Secures Win
|
Gwinnett County pitcher Lawrence Swift did his part in helping his team beat the Phoenix Hotspur U-21, 3-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The Black Cats now own a record of 35-28.
Lex van Esch, who leads the SA in home runs with 14, chipped in for Gwinnett County with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"Enjoyed this one," van Esch told the Gwinnett County Daily. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
