It wasn't easy but Luis González made it look that way.
González silenced the Gwinnett County Black Cats, 1-0, in a Connetquot Chiefs triumph at The Big Teepee today. Despite the appearance of dominance, González said later that he felt like he was struggling all game. He gave up 2 walks and 2 hits.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I made the decision to bear down and work through it," he said. "I made a few mistakes but it goes to show what you can do with grit and not much else."
In the current season in 9 starts, Luis González has a record of 3-4 with 61 strikeouts in 59 innings and a 5.03 ERA.
