Storm Raise Rally Flag, Beat Phoenix, 4-3
|
The Phoenix Hotspur U-21 got a superb performance from pitcher Dan Bell, but the Syracuse Storm still won the game, 4-3. Bell was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. The Storm improved to a lofty 19-7.
José García was the walk-off hero for Syracuse. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Storm left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
García called the win "a collective effort."
