Jets Topple Chiefs with Late Rally

Connetquot got a terrific performance from pitcher Ding-bong Zhu, but it wasn't enough to beat the Kennesaw Jets. Kennesaw won the Jets Stadium contest, 2-1. Zhu was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings of shutout ball. Bill Tench picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Coy Nice was tagged with the loss. Connetquot's current losing streak is now 4 games.
The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Kennesaw trailing 1-0, Sandor Addicks hit a curveball from Coy Nice to left for a 2-run home run. Just like that, the Jets had a walk-off win.
"Runs were at a premium," said Kennesaw manager António Sáenz.
