Kennesaw got a strong outing from Kevin Beckman as the Jets defeated the Phoenix Hotspur U-21, 3-1, at Hotspur Kiddie Complex. In 7.2 innings, Beckman surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Suhaila Zainuddin locked down his 3rd save.
It could have been a different outcome for Kennesaw, had it not been for Kian Curling, the speedster . Curling contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Kennesaw up, 3-1.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Curling.
The Jets are off to an underwhelming start as they look to defend their championship, notching only their 8th win in 18 games.
