The Gwinnett County Black Cats got a strong performance from pitcher Wendell Baldwin, who stymied the Syracuse offense en route to a 5-2 win at Pipers Ballpark. In 8 innings, Baldwin surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 5. He allowed 2 runs. T.J. Juckson closed the game out for Gwinnett County, earning his 2nd save.
Daniel Divina hit a 2-run triple off Jorge Gonzáles in the bottom of the third, which put the Black Cats in front, 3-1. Divina had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
