The Yellowknife Dragonblood got a magnificent performance from pitcher Carl MacPherson, who muffled the Connetquot offense en route to a tight 3-1 Dragonblood win at The Dragon Den. MacPherson went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 0, and struck out 6. His record improves to 1-0. The win gives the Dragonblood a record of 1-1.

Jim Dunleavy had a big 2-run double for the Dragonblood in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Yellowknife leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from Luis González and stroked the double to left-center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dragonblood ahead, 3-0.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Yellowknife manager Andha Gangulee said.
