Salvatierra Delivers Walk-Off Win for Seahawks
|
Fans who came to Seahwaks Stadium watched the Myrtle Beach Seahawks and the Columbia River Rats fight to the finish.
The Myrtle Beach Seahawks picked up a win at Seahwaks Stadium, knocking off the Columbia River Rats, 5-4. Starting pitcher Ralph Owens played a key role in the triumph. Myrtle Beach is now 55-41. Columbia is 56-40.
César Salvatierra, who is tied for 8th in the 3A in stolen bases with 16, chipped in for Myrtle Beach with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the 19th. For the game, the designated hitter had 3 hits in 6 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Columbia manager Greg Keys. "The effort was great."
