Seahawks Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Myrtle Beach Seahawks outlasted Luis Núñez and the Rocky Mountain Vibes, 8-7. Núñez was impressive in the loss. The Rocky Mountain pitcher threw 6 innings allowing 2 runs. Reliever Ralph Owens picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Thie Calkhoven took the loss. The Seahawks now have a record of 46-37 with the win over Rocky Mountain.
The most important at-bat for Myrtle Beach came in the top of the 11th inning, when designated hitter César Salvatierra stroked a 1-0 fastball to center for a run-scoring single, putting Myrtle Beach up, 8-7.
"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Salvatierra.
