Louisiana and Highwood duked it out at Hawks Field and the Dragoons came out victorious.

Richello Oliva added some punch to the Louisiana offense, helping them outmuscle the Highwood Hawks, 8-7. In the game, Oliva, who is tied for 10th in the 3A in doubles with 23, went 2 for 4 with a triple and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Ed Kreuze, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 2-0. Edmond McCord, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 23rd save.

Oliva contributed a big hit, a 2-run triple, for Louisiana in the top of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Oliva took a fastball from Danny Richardson and stroked the triple to left-center. His 2nd triple of the season allowed the Dragoons to leap in front, 2-1.

"We played hard and won," said Oliva. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
